LEARNING EXCEL IS BEST WAY TO FURTHER YOUR CAREER
author: Lee Buttolph
So many companies rely on Excel that if you aren't proficient at it you will be at a disadvantage compared to your peers.
You will also spend hours more a week trying to get work done that a skilled Excel practitioner would get done in minutes (no really, minutes versus hours for some tasks).
A friend of mine, Brandon Eng, has a company designed to make learning Microsoft Excel as simple as possible. He and his partner have developed software that opens up their tutorial directly into Excel so you aren't learning from a video or a book, you are learning from actually doing.

From their website:
"ExPrep is an interactive, self-paced and hands on Microsoft Excel training application. This training tool consists of preset, customized lessons that cover a number of important Excel topics. Lessons can range from basic Microsoft Excel topics such as creating new workbooks to intermediate and advanced topics including PivotTables and Macros. ExPrep also provides interactive feedback as users work through problem sets, helping users to correct any mistakes they make along the way."
"The first two ExPrep packages cover approximately 50 Excel topics each and will prepare users for their Microsoft Excel certification exam. The third package covers topics including PivotTables and Macros and the fourth ExPrep package will train users in VBA."
"ExPrep also offers customized spreadsheets for companies and organizations. We can take spreadsheets your employees use everyday and create an interactive, customized training program. Employees will learn Excel topics directly from spreadsheets used in their workplace."
